Bangkok Airways resumed Pets Travel Service from 1 Jan 2022 onwards
The pet service by Bangkok Airways is now back from Jan 1 onwards after the suspension since last year under the following conditions:
Dogs and cats are the only types of pets accepted.
The following list of Brachycephalic breeds (snub-nosed dogs) and some dog breeds are not allowed to be accepted as checked baggage (AVIH) or transported in the cargo compartment for the reason of safety and well-being of this special kind of pets with effect from 1 January 2021. 25 Dog breeds at risk include:
American Bulldog
American Staffordshire Terrier
American Pit Bull Terrier
Boston Terrier
Boxer
Brussels Griffon
Bulldog
Chinese Pug
Chow Chow
Dutch Pug
English Bulldog
English Toy Spaniel
French Bulldog
Lhasa Apso
Japanese Boxer
Japanese Pug
Japanese Spaniel (Chin)
Mastiff (All Breeds)
Pekinese
Pit Bull
Pug
Shar Pei
Shih Tzu
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Tibetan Spaniel
Please notify Bangkok Airways a minimum of 24 hours in advance prior to your departure date by contacting our call center or ticketing office.
Acceptance : Domestic - All flights to Chiang Mai, Phuket , Samui and all flights operated with AT72, Pet must be at least 8 weeks old. International - All routes except the Maldives (Allow cats only). Apply Bangkok Airways acceptance procedure with local customs requirements of port of origin/transfer/transit/destination, animal age and health requirement.
Thailand : Pet must be at least 4 months old.
Other Countries : Apply local customs regulations
Note : Some aircraft do not have the appropriate facilities for AVIH service. Please contact one of our offices or our call centre for more details.
The airline regrets to inform you that pets that are pregnant, injured, ill or with strong odour will not be accepted.
The owners are responsible for providing a cage or an appropriate container for their pet(s), with a limit of 1 animal per cage. Note : Containers made entirely of welded mesh or wire mesh are not suitable for air transport.
The owners are responsible for providing a water container. Water container must be attached to the pet container and be fillable from the outside.
The owners must accept all risks associated with air travel such as injury, sickness or death of their pets during the journey.
For international travel, the owners are responsible for obtaining the appropriate entry permits, including other documents required by the country of destination or transit for their pets.
For international travel, the owners are required to have a valid health certificate, proof of current rabies vaccination and export license.
AVIH for International transfer to Domestic is not acceptable.
If accepted, the weight shall not be included in your free baggage allowance and excess baggage charge will apply. The total charge weight will include the pet and the cage or any appropriated container. For domestic flights, THB 180/kg/Sector and for international flights the rate will be subject to a zonal fare.
