Samui is still busy despite the low season
November is usually known as the low season for Ko Samui because it's the rainy season but this year, it's different.
According to Surat Thani Province, there are an average of 2,000 visitors coming to Samui per day by flight. (Information on 20 Nov) At Chaweng Beach, you can spot many tourists relaxing on the beach, sunbathing, swimming, and eating in restaurants and there are still a lot of motorbikes and cars on the road during this low season which is certainly different from the last year.
Samui is getting more visitors...
Mr. Ratchaphon Poolsawat, President of the Koh Samui Tourism Association, said that after having promoted Ko Samui at the World Travel Market or WTM event in London on November 7-9, more outbound tour operators are interested in promoting Koh Samui as the result.
From what I see, when I returned from Bangkok recently by flight with Bangkok Airways, it seemed like the flight was full even though it's low season here. I was pretty surprised about that myself of how full the flight was during the low season. Even yesterday, I went to Central Festival when it was raining, and there were more people than usual which is a good sign for Samui now.
